WHAT IS MEDICAL BILLING?

Definition: Medical billing is the process of submitting and following up on claims to insurance companies in order to receive payment for services rendered

Health Insurance: Health insurance is a type of insurance whereby the insurer pays the medical costs of the insured if the insured becomes sick due to covered causes, or due to accidents. The insurer may be a private organization or a government agency.
Financial protection against the medical care costs arising from disease or accidental bodily injury. Such insurance usually covers all or part of the medical costs of treating the disease or injury. Insurance may be obtained on either an individual or a group basis.

Co- pay : A fee the policyholder pays for an office visit, specific treatment or prescription.
Agreed amount of the charges for medical services that patients or guarantors must pay.

Deductible: The amount of a claim that the policyholder has agreed to pay. This amount is deducted from a claims payment.

Ambulatory Surgery: - Outpatient surgery or surgery that does not require an overnight hospital stay.
Ambulatory surgery is surgery that does not require an overnight hospital stay. It is also called ‘Day Surgery’, ‘Same Day Surgery’ (SDS), or ‘Short Procedure Unit’ (SPU).
